George Clooney was detained as a result of the protest

According to the Associated Press, the famous actor George Clooney has been detained by the authorities in Washington, as a result of participation in a protest at the Sudanese Embassy. Along with him was arrested by his father, journalist Nick Clooney, and other activists.

During the protest was blocked entrance to the Embassy. The police repeatedly warned the activists on the inadmissibility of such actions, after which the arrests were made.

The protest was aimed primarily at attracting attention to the humanitarian crisis provoked by Sudanese President Omar al- Bashirirom. In their view, the president prevents the supply of products, closing the border with South Sudan.

After the arrest of the actor, he said that Sudanese children are being starved and it's time to stop this nightmare.

A few days ago George Clooney returned from Sudan, and then spoke to the Committee of Foreign Affairs of the Senate, with a story about the brutal violence in the Nuba Mountains. At a meeting with U.S. president, he repeatedly returned to this issue.
